Methodologies included the GranToxiLux assay and its analysis by flow cytometry, luciferase assay and its analysis by luminometer readings, and cell staining and its analysis by flow cytometry and microscopy.Isolated, cultured, and derived cell lines that chronically expressed HIV-1 envelope proteins for use as targets in assays. In collaboration with Dr. James Kiwanuka-Tondo and Makerere University I designed a sociocultural research project conducted in Uganda on the influence of culture on the prevention, progression, and treatment of HIV/AIDS.Spent twelve days exploring both cities and rural villages in Uganda, assessing potential cultural influences of Uganda’s rare success in its public health campaign for HIV/AIDS throughout the 80s and 90s.
