About Torin Douglas
After 24 years as the BBC's media correspondent - and 40 years reporting and analysing media issues for the press and broadcasters - I now speak, write and chair events for a range of media, arts and academic bodies, including Voice of the Listener and Viewer, BBC Alumni, and several organisations in Chiswick. I have written chapters for several books about the media as well as The Complete Guide to Advertising (MacMillan 1985). I'm the director of the Chiswick Book Festival and was awarded the MBE for services to the community in Chiswick. From 2013 to 2023, I was a trustee of the Sandford St Martin Trust, which promotes excellence in religious broadcasting. I was also a Visiting Professor at the University of Bedfordshire from 2013 to 2016 and hold an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of West London.
