As a Care Counselor intern, I provided case management and counseling services for individuals and families with a loved one experiencing Alzheimer's dementia. I also participated in crisis helpline counseling and community education presentations about Alzheimer's disease.

San Fernando Valley

As a clinical social work intern, I provided clinical assessments, long and short term treatment to children (ages 5-17) and their families. Clinical issues that showed up for my clients included: trauma, loss, and a wide range of mental health issues. At Centro de Amistad, I was able to facilitate individual or family sessions in their homes or at school. At this placement, I also provided consultation services to teachers, social workers, school counselors, and other community service providers.

Northridge

The lab focuses on culture and technology within communities of color. Lab Responsibilities include transcribing data ,research reading and writing, data collection and analysis, submitting poster presentation abstracts to research conferences.

Provided reading and writing support for first time freshmen. Facilitated academic group activities and lesson planning. Conducted class discussions, collaborated with Professor to track and discuss student’s progress. Informed students about resources available on campus. Planned SI sessions using a wide variety of the interactive learning strategies (without re-teaching, lecturing or completing student’s assignments for them).
