I worked closely with our internal grants, policy, and procurement teams to develop strategies and successfully leverage funding for our clients - which included a range from non-profits like the Green Building Alliance to corporations such as EQT and Giant Eagle.One of my personal highlights was coordinating a strategic partnership between Eaton Corp, Bayer Corp., UPMC, and Pittsburgh Region Clean Cities that led to the successful implementation of regional electric vehicle charging stations. I not only had to balance the desires of multiple stakeholders, but also had to develop buy-in to focus the group towards efforts/strategies that would meet the State’s goals for the program.

Project Manager/LeaderLed projects for Economic Architecture Practice - a group focused on enabling economic development through tech based ecosystems. clients. I was responsible for modeling economic impacts, conducting strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats (SWOT), spearheading public policy analysis and development, and identifying and applying for funding opportunities. As part of my efforts, I was part of creating an economic development strategy for West Central Wisconsin, which involved both analysis of data (Census, BLS, etc.) as well as driving around the heart of the state interviewing key players from politicians to poultry workers. I also helped lead analysis that quantified the impact of Bermuda’s Insurance and Reinsurance Industry, the results of which were included in testimony before Congress.

Wrote and managed legislation that was eventually passed by Congress which reauthorized the I&M Canal National Heritage Area.Managed Congressional district economic development projects including federal funding activities, and interacted with project and implementation leaders ranging from business lobbyists to non-profit presidents. Led policy activities related to Energy, Transportation, Environment, Budget, and the Small Business.

Managed Congressional office web site and computer systems and wrote 50 – 60 constituent response letters/week. I also was responsible for some Agricultural issues and in this role, I assisted in coordinating efforts to compensate Virginia poultry farmers after a serious outbreak of avian flu forced them to destroy flocks and coops to help stop the disease’s spread.
