Act as an interface between Ash Grove Cement and Cadence.Develop and maintain the Cadence Laboratories to meet the requirement of furnishing accurate and timely analytical information.Monitor quality control to ensure accuracy with the Waste Analysis Plan and Feedstream Analysis Plan.Oversee the management of all laboratory operations to ensure accurate, safe, and cost efficient performance of all activities.Evaluate and validate new equipment and processes and procedures on a continuing basis and recommend changes as necessary.Ensure the correct use of safety equipment including, but not limited to, air purifying respirators, safety glasses, protective clothing, and chemical-resistant boots and gloves.Coordination of LWDF Fuel Supplies into both Ash Grove Plants.Development of Laboratory Operating Budgets, including monthly reporting.Capital Laboratory Purchase Research, Coordination, and Completion of Ash Grove CARs and CAOsManage and/or perform miscellaneous duties such as compiling laboratory data and writing reports, requisitioning, pricing and ordering supplies and services, maintaining cleanliness of work areas and monitoring and documenting training.Develop and prepare written recommendations to maintain an efficient and contemporary Laboratory.Travel to and participate in off-site company meetings, trade association meetings, and other seminars, training, or conferences to support sales and laboratory operations.Review profiles and make recommendations on the disposition of potential waste streams with regard to health and safety, permit requirements, system compatibility, and Standard Operating Procedures.Review analytical data and make recommendations on the disposition of ongoing waste streams with regard to health and safety, permit requirements, system compatibility, and Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain database of approved waste streams and communicate system limitations or other health and safety, permit or procedural concerns.

Ensures compliance with federal, state and local water quality regulations and requirements Perform basic to complex chemical and microbiological tests on a wide variety of raw and treated water and wastewater samples Perform metals analysis on hazardous and non-hazardous wastewater using the ICP-OES Oversee laboratory safety, inventory, inspections and instrument maintenance Provides technical support for treatment plant personnel with regard to lab analysis for wastewater neutralization and dischargeCreates and maintains laboratory data files used to store, analyze and report data generated by the laboratoryConducts module safety training for plant personnel

Perform routine qualitative and quantitative chemical and biochemical analysis on plant samples Instruments used daily: HPLC, GC-MS, Hach DR800/2800, Hach LDO Meter, Shimadzu TOC-V, and LIMS Communicates with operators and run-plant staff regarding system proficiency based on laboratory tests performed Analyze waster water effluent for NPDES permitted outfalls Assisted in writing laboratory operating procedures
