A degree in electronics and three years hardware engineering preceded a switch in 1987 to the enticing new world of Mac software development, which has been a mainstay ever since, with occasional cross-platform development. In 2007 I added four years as a requirements analyst for two teams, and then in 2011 I pivoted to iOS and started Satisfying Structures, marketing my own product in 2013. In the last five years through collaboration with the Open Bank Project, I have added a focus on APIs, platform strategy, developer experience, and related consultancy. My recreational interests include arts and graphics, with several design & print projects to show, and music, at one time regularly murdering jazz and soul classics with nine musical co-conspirators to drunken audiences.The move to the user-responsive model of software accelerated by the Mac in the 80’s captivated me, and I quickly became an advocate of best user experience - twenty years before UX was a buzzword - and adopted from the work of Tom Gilb, one of the catalysts of nascent agile, a focus on quality attributes and targets to guide development.
