www.sunfilm.comSunfilm AG was one of the world’s largest manufacturers of silicon-based thin-film modules with a capacity of ~145 megawatts peak (MWp) at its two German production sites in Grossroehrsdorf and Bitterfeld-Wolfen. At Sunfilm I was responsible for R+D, Engineering, Production, IT and Quality Assurance.

Sontor GmbH was a 100% subsidairy of Q-Cells SE. The purpose was R+D and production of thin-film silicon modules. Sontor was the first company to produce modules based on this technology in Europe. I was responsible for business planning and building the fab and ramp-up. Later I focused on R+D and planning of new production lines. Sontor was merged with Sunfilm in 2009.

In parallel I developed the business plan for production of thin-film silicon modules which led to the founding of Sontor GmbH where I took the position of the CTO.

Solar Technology Associates was a start-up in Ghana, West-Africa. Its purpose was the design, import and sales of small photovoltaics and solar hot water systems and wind turbines. I was responsible for design, technical sales and installation.
