Formed in 2016, tall poPpy is an artist-led social enterprise that seeks to create systemic change in theatre. Co-founders Jeanine Tesori, Torya Beard, and Darren Biggart develop programs that widen pathways of diversity and inclusion. They bring artists together to create work, develop opportunities, and interact with issues that are relevant to the community at large. The three of us have been collaborators for many years and in many settings. Our impulse to form a company was based on the idea that the systemic oppression that exists in theatre is a microcosm of the oppression that exists in the world. Solution-based and vision-driven, our goal is to gather a community of artists, one by one, who address inequities through various means. As these artists grow and bring others along with them, we all work toward action that instigates systemic, lasting change.

Original Tap House, founded by Torya Beard and Ayodele Casel, is an intimate, elegant space for artists to create, collaborate, and increase their productivity. Our "HouseMates" are photographers, actors, dancers, writers, publicists, and health and wellness practitioners. A crew of great people creating great things!We believe that creatives of all disciplines should have beautiful places to work. We should be able to rent space at reasonable rates. A founding Creative Team member, I was a member of the A BroaderWay Foundation Dance Faculty for 3 years and Co-Creative Director for five years. During that time, I contributed significantly to the curriculum, and the development of the creative staff and creative residencies. Now, I am leading the strategic vision of ABW. My focus is on developing institutional partnerships, overseeing the yearly program calendar, expanding and deepening relationships with participant parents and community partners. My responsibilities also include leading marketing, communications, community relations, and development/fundraising efforts, including the development of the Creative Advisory and Young Professional Boards as well as reporting to the Executive Board.

Developed and implemented community outreach marketing, fundraising and event strategies. Worked closely with the President & Founder and Managing Director, External Relations to increase awareness of this South African non-profit organization among New York area young professionals and artistic leaders. Responsibilities; creating marketing materials, planning various fundraising events, developing and maintaining relationships with community partners, budgeting, weekly reporting, creating presentations, online research, pr and social media management in support of all fundraising activity.

Offering support and consulting services on 'as needed' basis.

Performed all female dancer tracks, Performed the role "Sarabi" as an understudy. Worked with the dance supervisor, Associate Choreographer and Stage Management to support the safe execution and overall accuracy of all choreography in the show. Regularly taught new cast members their choreography and their "backstage tracking" (where to do all costume/make-up changes and the safest places to prepare for entrances/do crossovers etc.).
