Ever since I was young, I had a dream and a passion to teach. I can remember lining up stuffed animals and my younger siblings and instructing them as I doodled various "lessons" on the concrete walls of our unfinished basement. Today, I am happy to be living that dream every day as a secondary education teacher. In the business world, I often got asked icebreaker questions to introduce myself in social activities. one of my favorite questions is, "If money didn't matter, what would you do?" Although I didn't always understand this, I can finally say with confidence that money really doesn't matter as much as we think. Leaving a good paying job in Public Accounting to pursue my passion was one of the best decisions I have ever made and now, every day, I get to help influence the next generation to have the courage to dream and the tenacity to pursue those dreams and I can't think of a more fulfilling career.

Since that time, I've grown the program to over 50 students across 5 different video games and competed in state and regional competitions. I now oversee a team of 4 coaches and 2 community volunteers that train and support the students in a year-round athletic program. As a team, we have used video games as an incentive to encourage students to perform at their best online and in the classroom. As part of my responsibilities as head coach, I've also secured grants to purchase and maintain a lab of 12 high-end gaming computers and 6 Nintendo Switches to ensure that our students have the best equipment in the league to play on. -
