I am a storyteller to the core of me and I am thrilled to be able to bring this passion to the University of Maine System---Maine's Public Universities! The work that's being done around the University of Maine System--from scientific breakthroughs in Lyme disease, PFAS and climate change to the engineering marvels of fully recyclable smart homes, renewable energy and improving the way we live daily, it is an honor to help tell these globally impactful stories.

Real Lives Real Women is a web-based tv show about and for women. The show is issues oriented and its purpose is to empower, invigorate and inspire women....focusing on women who've made it through BIG problems/situations and made it to the other side safely. The show includes salient information and highlights resources available to those in the grips of crisis/situations. This is a socially relevant project with a goal of helping, potentially, a large group of women around the globe.

In response to the negative, sad, tragic news in the newspaper, on the radio and in nightly news, this radio show highlights and underscores the positive, inspiring stories in Maine. During the hour, I have conversations with the people who are bringing jobs and opportunities to Maine, and doing good things around our great state. Leadership played a critical role in this position which incorporated strategic communications and marketing for a small, Liberal Arts College. I directly managed an active marketing and communications team of 7, responsible for all internal and external communications, social media, magazines, television, radio and print commercials and advertising at the College. This included marketing research, advertising for both on-line and on campus enrollment, an in-depth, quarterly magazine, plus robust digital content for the website. Also mentored SJC students through internships and work study programs, in creating mini documentary videos, photo essays and various marketing materials for print and digital advertising. Worked closely with the Sisters of Mercy, the founders of Saint Joseph's College, to ensure historical and current data information was secure and relevant. Additionally, was instrumental in efforts to usher in Pope Francis' Holy Year of Mercy celebrations on campus and through a special edition magazine.

In addition to print advertisements of the wide array of services offered at this 55 bed hospital, I have been generating television and radio ads and testimonials building up a library of salient, interesting material. My goal is to get the 'stories' that haven't yet been told on the air and on the web!

My responsibilities included taking a leadership role in the newsroom of our Portland-based station; writing, producing, reporting editing content for the 6pm and 11pm newscasts. Prior to that, utilizing the same skills as above in producing/anchoring the morning and noon newscasts. Honored with Emmy, AP, Edward R. Murrow and Columbia duPont awards for writing and newscasts.

More than 'just' a nightly anchor, I was a journalist who covered stories of all varieties, nearly every day. With a passion for writing and story-telling, hitting the streets to get the real and complete story was my motivation. Additionally, I worked closely with younger writers, mentoring them on writing to video and caring about the product. My responsibilities included helping to launch the new "Fox News Boston" and the hour long 10pm newscast. Also included: writing, producing, editing content; turning reporter stories for nightly newscast and anchoring the Nightly, Award-Winning 10pm newscast. Within 2 years, #1 rated 10pm newscast in Boston.Awards: Emmy, Associated Press, Working Women, Working Mothers

Anchored three nightly newscasts for ABC and Fox..and often went out to do interviews and gather news for that night or the next day. I wrote for each of the newscasts, developed story ideas and produced multiple special segments.Was in labor with my fourth child during the 6pm news, delivered her during the 11p (in the hospital!!)

I wrote, contributing stories for the 10pm newscast in Boston. At the time, it was the number one 10pm news.
