Melanin Minds Matter is a Houston, Texas based 501(c)(3) non-profit, mental health and wellness program. We provide a safe space for minority girls who are meant to be seen and heard to work through emotions and feelings in pursuit of improved quality of life. As Founder/CEO, I:-Founded non-profit focused on giving 50+ underserved minority girls access to mental health and wellness programs. -Manage board of directors and 3+ volunteer staff to ensure the successful delivery of youth programming.-Lead presentations including quarterly goals, relevant updates, and assessing community needs to determine strategic planning.-Spearhead marketing and fundraising efforts to advance the organization's growth, resulting in $2000 raised in 6 months.-Communicate with 5 schools, staff, and interested parties to increase community and brand awareness of our programs.

-Leading clinician providing mental health care in a 15+ staff psych unit, supporting a caseload of 20 ongoing patients. -Evaluate and collaborate with 20+ patients to determine appropriate care and discharge planning.-Lead and present 3+ group mental health workshops, supporting patients in developing coping skills and wellness planning.-Analyze data to successfully manage 20+ patient’s goals and outcomes, reducing their rate of readmission by 70%. -Work cross-functionally with Case Managers, Nurses, Psych staff, and clinical techs to develop optimal plan of care.
