Payroll Supervisor
I am responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll system, leading and training the payroll staff, and ensuring all payroll accounting procedures are accurate and compliant with regulations and legislation. I've created onboarding materials, training documentation and processes to ensure smooth, accurate and efficient operations and continue to audit and update as necessary. I keep our biweekly unionized and non-unionized salary and hourly staff paid, their benefits covered and costs remitted, and manage their pension plan. I remit all statutory deductions as needed and manage our WSIB, EHT, ROE and T4 reporting. I use data analytics to do cost forecasting and find cost savings, as well as support cross functionally with trends, payroll, financial and employment information. I manage our data integrity and accuracy in our payroll system and work with our vendor and on special projects to make the system work better for our organization and all users.

• Lead all full cycle recruitment initiatives for company departments from gap analysis to hiring and onboarding, to terminations. • Advise and consult with Executive Committee on all company HR related concerns and organizational decisions, attended committee meetings as necessary. Took the lead while the RTW specialist was on an extended leave of absence. • Headed a campaign for the Canadian Red Cross to raise a total of $4800, as well as a campaign for the Children’s Miracle Network that raised $350 plus collected various donatable items. Also headed a pink t-shirt anti-bullying initiative to raise awareness for bullying in the workplace.
