Prepared a technical report submitted to the TCEQ which resulted in their decision that completing site remediation with the existing system was "technically infeasible". Three-dimensional fate and transport computer modeling was used to demonstrate various technical points in the report. The State's resolution resulted in an estimated savings to Maxim Technologies of $3 million.Teamed on bench scale studies. One was associated with evaluating the use of onsite river water for use as process water in a major oil refinery in Oklahoma, and the second was to evaluate a process for converting used lube oil to road grade diesel fuelDesigned and helped perform two large-scale remedial investigations, wrote the subsequent closure plans and managed the remediation. The sites contained manufacturing related chlorinated solvents and heavy metal contamination to both soil and groundwater.Performed site visits over the course of a year and developed an environmental policies and procedures manual for Texas-New Mexico Power Company.Completed the field investigation and wrote the State approved Closure Plan for a former oil production pit in east Texas.Conducted field investigations and completed State approved Facility Response Plans for several major fuel distribution facilities for Star Enterprise, one of which included complex coastal and wetlands considerations.Conducted background research and completed the conceptual design of a hazardous waste storage facility for Kirtland Air Force Base.
