My professional path is defined by a blend of athletic and educational experiences. For 15 years, I embraced the role of a semi-professional footballer, gaining firsthand experience in the sport's competitive environment. This period not only enhanced my understanding of football but also shaped my approach to teamwork and discipline. In the educational sector, I served as Head of Year at a secondary school, after gaining a Computer Science Degree and PGCE to become an ICT Lead, a role that was part of the Outstanding Teacher Programme. This experience was pivotal in mentoring and nurturing the talents of young people, focusing on both academic achievement and holistic growth.I’ve held my UEFA A license since 2014, and have committed my professional development to enhancing both players and coaches in football since. I’ve most recently completed the Elite Coaches Apprenticeship Scheme (ECAS), the single most influential course I’ve undertaken. Providing advanced insights developing the self and building strong long lasting relationships both on and off the field.During this time, I was also able to complete my MSc Degree in Sports Coaching, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills. I’ve applied this new found knowledge and experience to advance coaching in the last 15 years, with a distinct focus on the Youth Development Phase, with the aim to maximise coach and player potential. In my role as an Academy Auditor for the Premier League, it was a pleasure to be able to visit, analyse and assess football academy programs. Being able to observe various approaches clubs implemented to advance their stakeholders was a fantastic experience and opened my eyes to how very different clubs and coaches perceive development. This role also allowed me to provide tailored feedback to help enhance club’s youth training frameworks and encourage coaches to think outside the box. It was a great experience that allowed me to observe, support and learn from some of the elite programs in the game in this country. The founding of Touchtight Coaching marked a significant milestone. The Touchtight Project is an amalgamation of all of the above, and allowed me to link technology, with learning and the beautiful game. It is centred around supporting clubs, coaches and players to become aligned in their search for success, and to maximise individual and group potential. I am and will always be committed to the development of people in the world of sport, and it is a privilege to have the opportunity to nurture excellence in the sports coaching domain.
