I am a father, husband, leader, lawyer, banker, academic, speaker, problem solver, solutions-focused innovator, and original thinker. I am versatile. I am an experienced strategic leader with global academic qualifications, broad expertise and skills. I started my extensive and diverse career as a lawyer, in-house, as General Counsel in a Commercial Bank then Manager Corporate Finance with a Merchant Bank, then as a Finance Attorney in New York with one of the largest and leading law firms in the world. I then served as Special Counsel with a Central Bank and today as Head of an office with a Multilateral Development Bank.As an Attorney-at-Law, I was admitted to practice in New York, Guyana, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados and am a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.I currently serve as the Head, Office of Integrity, Compliance and Accountability (ICA), an independent office in the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). CDB is an international financial institution, specifically, a multilateral development bank. CDB is committed to reducing inequality and extreme poverty by supporting inclusive and sustainable growth and promoting good governance. ICA is a convergence of five major governance functions each of which operates effectively like an office, and the Head, ICA as the leader and manager of each function/office, namely: (1) an Institutional Integrity function that covers risk assessment and mitigation; the detection, prevention and investigation of integrity violations (e.g. fraud and corruption), and the sanction of wrongdoers; (2) an Ethics function that covers the promotion of ethical conduct; prevention and internal investigations of staff misconduct and ethical violations e.g. fraud and other wrongdoing;(3) a Whistleblowing function that covers the Bank's Whistleblower System and the protection of whistleblowers from retaliation; (4) a Compliance function that covers money laundering, terrorist financing and financial sanctions; and (5) an Accountability function that responds to complaints of environmental and social harm allegedly caused by CDB-financed projects. My role requires me to be a leader and manager with independence and broad authority to operationalise and manage CDB's Strategic Framework for Integrity, Compliance and Accountability. As Head, ICA, I report functionally and directly to the Board of Directors of CDB.I love to give-back my time and energy to people and causes that matter.
