I started my career working as a design engineer at Brookstone in Singapore, then spent 2 years as a mechanical engineer at Exelis Inc in Los Angeles designing radar systems for military grade UAVs. In 2012 I cofounded my first startup, ZingCheckout, an iPad based point of sale for SMBs. ZingCheckout was acquired by BigCommerce in 2015, and I moved to San Francisco.https://techcrunch.com/2015/04/29/bigcommerce-zing/In 2013 I started a podcast, Around The Coin, interviewing crypto and fintech founders. FounderTrellia Nov 2024 - PresentTrellia’s mission is to connect individuals with licensed providers of psychedelic medicines.I started Trellia after witnessing the challenges my wife faced as an early legal psilocybin facilitator. From finding clients to building an online presence, I saw a clear gap in support for facilitators and those seeking their services. Inspired by my own psilocybin experience, I wanted to create a platform that bridges this gap, making it easier for people to connect with the right guides.I’ve had the privilege of interviewing over 50 facilitators on our platform, and I’m passionate about helping make psychedelic medicine more accessible and approachable for everyone. -

FounderMetastory Mar 2018 - Feb 2021Metastory is an experimental passion project to create audio stories that activate the source of human creativity, our imagination. I had the chance to work with some super talented people. Download the app and check it out! The audio stories use breathwork, meditation, and sound effects that expose you to new worlds and perspectives. With psychedelic medicine taking roots in western culture, people are yearning for ways to safely integrate these experiences into their daily routine. We believe audio stories are one pathway to exploring and integrating the archetypal patterns of our subconscious. Metastory is media as medicine. -

EngineerExelis Feb 2010 - Sep 2011UsMy main project was within a ~100 person team of software & mechanical engineers to design, develop, prototype and test the Northrop Grumman BAMS radar, an automated sense and avoid system used on future generations of Global-hawk Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV's).It was amazing to work from conceptual brainstorming to production ready deliverables with such a large scale environment in only 2 years. I worked primarily on product design with other software and mechanical engineers, but also helped the Bus. Dev. team with the engineering aspects in the contract proposal. I found that the negative aspects to the defensive industry tend to stifle innovation and since leaving ITT, I've focused my career on startup companies.Other smaller projects I was involved in:• Designed the Deployable Instrument Landing System for the U.S. Navy proposal.• Developed technical antenna assembly for the German military's onboard radar system.• Lead engineer in the Doppler VHF Omni-directional Range Systems (DVOR) proposal. -
Engineering ManagerUniversity Of Connecticut Sep 2008 - May 2010Storrs, Ct, UsI was hired to help the University of Connecticut design their Power Plant flow system layout (superheated water, natural gas, oil, and steam). I was fortunate to work with some incredibly smart people at a young age.We developed algorithms to synchronize electronic valves which optimized on/off schedules for the flow systems with the goal of saving on wasted energy. Many of the technical CAD drawings that I created were used during the $50M UCONN renovation.During the last few months, I recruited, interviewed, hired, trained and managed 3 engineers. -
Research & Design Engineer For BrookstoneBrookstone Hq In Singapore May 2009 - Aug 2009InI worked with a team of software & mechanical engineers in Singapore to brainstorm, design and develop a next generation massage chair (uTrack).I built the prototype of the chair along with the software spec and stress analysis while in school. Together with the R&D team we pitched the CEO, Ron Sim, and he gave it the thumbs up! Working with manufacturers, suppliers and engineers across Asia gave me incredible international business experience that was truly life changing. Responsibilities during my time w/ the engineering team:• Finalized the design ready for production on CAD models• Coordinated with plastic and metal vendors in China to build a prototype• Assisted the patent attorney in forming a design patent -
Mechanical Systems EngineerHamilton Sundstrand Jan 2008 - Sep 2008Windsor Locks, Ct, UsI took a year off from school to work as a systems engineer, it was an amazing experience.I worked with the manufacturing, mechanical, and software teams to organize project lines, budgeting & scheduling high cost >$20 M product lines. We worked on aerospace systems, and in hindsight I was given a lot of responsibility at a young age, but I matured very quickly because of it. A couple major projects: • Conducted tests and analysis on Air Control Systems (for commercial jets) in special investigations• Designed Fuel Control tool fixtures and organized their implementation
