It for me is not until we are on deaths door, or someone close to us is dying do we find our self regretting what we did and did not say. What and how we did things. Why does death seem to have such a drastic change in us? Why do we begin to see how meaningful and valuable life truly is? Why do some of us begin to appreciate life and pursue some of our goals? Say what we want? And go after what we want? I had started writing when I was in my mid-thirties. At first it was due to just getting some things off of my chest. And then I had a lot of these wild and crazy thoughts full of creativity. So after having one of my best friends read something comical I wrote, and then afterwards having others read my work. I then had gotten the bug to write. It took me five years to finally see that I had a following and a gift. And I had seen within me that it didn’t matter what a “lot” of people thought of my work. I was destined to create something powerful with the complexity yet simplicity of words. That had value, meaning, power, and comfort. My point is, I didn’t let death, I didn’t let something hurtful push me into what I loved to do earnestly. I speak in words on paper what is on my heart, what I feel, what I go through, what I see others go through. Pain and life in words.
