I am a cardiologist with expertise in heart failure and transplant in children, and a researcher with interest in clinical research design and analysis, clinical outcomes, risk-stratification and risk prediction. Much of my research work has used large, structured data and conventional statistical methods. I have participated in clinical trials as well. My recent interests include developing in-depth understanding of the structure and architecture of deep learning AI tools such as advanced classification methods, neural networks, encoding of unstructured data, transformers and foundation models with a goal to apply the knowledge gained from these concepts in medical research.
