My passion is designing unique, intuitive, and memorable user experiences using cutting edge tools. As an experienced educator and entrepreneur, I draw upon a deep understanding of how to engage myself and a diverse team in focused learning to solve new and challenging problems through writing elegant, adaptable code.Big Hit VR Baseball, a passion project that I took from concept to a fully realized commercial video game, is an example of how I translate my skills into results. As a baseball fan, I always wanted to know what it would actually be like to stand in the batter's box and face off against major league pitching. With the advent of VR gaming technology, I decided to make my experience a reality. After diving into academic physics research on the mechanics of the flight of a baseball, I developed models for accurately simulating a real time batting experience. Then, using my software development experience, I created a working prototype to iterate on. Finally, I focused on designing a fun, accessible, intuitive user experience in an environment without time-tested human interface guidelines.Without my enjoyment of learning and a commitment to solving challenging problems each and every day, a project of this scope would not have been possible.
