About Tyler P. Choate
Tyler specializes in the assessment and treatment of infants, toddlers, school-age children, and adolescents who have diverse needs in communication, language, and speech. He comes from a whole-language perspective and often speaks to parents and educators about the pitfalls of phonics-based reading programs.In 2015, Tyler completed a year long training to become a DIR®/Floortime clinician through the Profectum Academy. He recently finished Profectum’s DIR Fellowship where he spent another year deepening his understanding of child development and being mentored by some of the field's most established experts. Tyler also studies Infant Mental Health at the Erikson Institute in Chicago. Tyler is a native of culture-rich Acadiana, the southwestern region of Louisiana. He attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for graduate and undergraduate degrees in speech-language pathology.
