I am amazed how technology is getting more and more accessible to everyone. During high-school I started with Youtube videos on how to write computer programs. Some years later I was able to publish my first app (an European car crash report app) for iPhone and iPad, only with information available online. It was at this time the idea of a cloud based timing system for sports sparked. I had to learn distributed systems, basics of electronics, drawing and soldering circuit boards, cellular technology and 3d printing to build the first prototypes. After years of failed attempts we now sell our finished products to customers around the globe.This journey was certainly not comfortable nor easy but it showed me one thing: Nearly everyone has the knowledge needed to build their dreams, in their hands. I mean you can start learning a new skill right now, doesn't matter if it is playing the guitar or building complex distributed information systems. It is all out there waiting for you to be discovered. This drives me everyday.
