Important Challenges:Modernizing and redefining the operations of the State's general office buildings.Reorganizing division's fiscal operations to reflect State's regular system of program-based budgeting, originally informally set only by indirect cost recovery revenue and project management software.Training and mentoring staff to be able to implement these specific changes. Communicating to high-level state executives the challenges with establishing a firm budget.Developing effective communication between other Department divisions with little familiarity with program operations. Realizing a management style that is effective not only with direct reports but also consulting firms and other private entities. Major Projects and Initiatives:In this position, I acted as lead in designing the blueprint of comprehensive fiscal vision for the maintenance and operations of State-owned office buildings. This initiative acted as a compliment to other Executive priorities both about the modernization of State operations and capital planning. The nature of this project evolved significantly over the course of my tenure and afterwards.
