I saw a demand needed in the forwarding network in the NW and started Bee-Line Freight Solutions, LLC in 2008. Starting with my personal van I moved time sensitive air shipments locally to and from the Portland airport. Runs turned into routes. Portland turned into the entire NW. Vans turned into box trucks. There was a new meaning to 24/7/365. I loaded, sorted, picked, packed, drove, dispatched, hired, fired, did payroll, IFTA, PUC ,TSA, ODOT, OSHA and was on call covering office support including customer service and sales. Once our locally owned office switched to Airgroup. I helped consult and keep our old PDX Team clients as well as obtain new. I managed multiple accounts from quote through delivery of goods. I worked mostly domestic air and ground freight, dabbling in international when needed. After working over 5 years with the PDX office I then assisted with Airgroup OMA building current customer relations as their customer was moving and starting a full warehouse operation in PDX. Under the Bee-Line name I contracted with Airgroup to help operations in the Northwest as well as created routes the ran from Portland, OR to multiple locations in Tri Cities WA, Seattle WA, Boise ID and Missoula MT. I also routed all airfreight shipments door to door. Building and creating these demanded lanes of service was a wonderful experience that allowed me to thrive in my field.

When I moved to Portland I started with a Team WW office locally owned by IFS (International Freight Systems). I very much enjoyed the immediate challenges delegated to me for a number of high valued accounts. I was the problem solver, the catch-upper, the new voice. I dove into the accounts to see everyplace we could be more consistent, save money and time, and make the customer wowed. I received many complements on my actions and work, from customers and bosses. I was able to use my thinking cap and be creative, proactive. IFS choose to switch contracts from Team to Airgroup. That challenge was difficult since I held a sense of Team pride. I took that challenge and craved to learn more about Airgroup to keep that pride and did. We successfully continued satisfying our clients with outstanding service.

I was barely 18 when I accepted this position and was quickly nick named "The Airfreight Kid". I worked and learned from an entire team twice my age. I was as a sponge. I absorbed everything I could in the logistical world. Trucks to Trains, loading rigs to memorizing air craft door dims, I couldn't get enough. I was born with this industry running through my blood.

Silverback Express was a small family owned cartage company I was lucky enough to work for during high school. I learned the logistics lingo, ran extra hot shots, created BOLS and did a lot of billing. They were an in house carrier for the air freight department of Valley North American, the company that nabbed me from Silverback.
