Lakvijaya Power Plant

Lakvijaya Power Plant is the first-ever coal-based power generating station in Sri Lanka. It has a capacity of 3X300 MW, and it is the biggest power station in the country.Main Duties: * Involve with the maintenance of steel structures, concrete and masonry structures, drainage systems, potable water network, underwater concrete tunnels, and sewer networks as a maintenance Engineer.* Involve with new constructions of steel and concrete structures as a Project Engineer.* Prepare engineering estimates, construction drawings, and project master plans for proposed projects.* Complete the structural and architectural design process of all proposed constructions with the assistance of applicable national and international standards and codes of practices.* Evaluate contractors under the quotation calling method and complete the minor constructions per the national procurement manual and Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA) guidelines, Sri Lanka.* Carry out all procurement processes related to proposed major constructions, renovation contracts, and material purchasing contracts. This process mainly includes preparing draft bid documents, clarification documents, negotiation letters, and Technical Evaluation Reports (TEC reports) as per the national procurement manual guidelines and Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA), Sri Lanka.* Provide project management and coordination services from small to mega-scale civil engineering projects, from mobilisation to handing over the project.* Prepare annual budget and relevant reports.* Carry out the landscape services within the Power Plant premises.

The project proceeded from September 2013 to January 2014.• The construction project of the proposed Jetwing City Hotel Buildings for the Jetwing hotels group proceeded from January 2013 to September 2013.Duties:* Provide Civil Engineering inputs to the projects.* Supervise and review site structural engineering tasks, including piling, concrete, and steel.* Reviewing of construction drawings.* Conduct standard engineering tests according to the national and international codes of practice.* Supervision road construction works.* Generate several kinds of management reports.* Prepare and follow up interim payments on the project.* Coordinate with the client and consultants on project matters.* Site supervision, Project management, and the budget management.
