I am an idea shaper who thrives on helping those around me clarify their ideas, identify their goals, and see the big picture. The specifics of my career roles have varied, but they have all centred around helping others to find different ways of thinking about the challenges they face and to access the resources they need to achieve their goals.Of my many roles, the one that I have been the most passionate about was my role as an Associate Dean at the then-new Technical University of British Columbia (TechBC). In that role, I served as a mentor to ~45 faculty colleagues while leading them through an innovative yet deadline-driven process to develop not only many new courses, but also new ways of thinking about what a good university education looks like, how new technologies can support such an education, and how open collaboration and discussion can help a team see what’s working and identify best practices. The process I pioneered at TechBC won Honorable Mention in the Brandon Hall Best Practices in E-Learning Awards.
