Since moving to the Treasury department I have been involved in several different areas as the Bank adjusted to the Covid situation. My new position as the Treasury Business Unit Manager/ Product Owner has given me a greater insight to the workings of this department.

A large portion of my day consists of trouble shooting and helping avoid financial loss to the bank. My ability to identify problems and find resolutions, is renowned within the bank.This skill is essential for my position as Manager for Global and Local Support, Non Resident Centre and Investments.I am also responsible for the management and control of systems, people and customer relationships for investments and support services.These are necessary skills required for my position as the Manager of the newly formed Non Resident Centre at Bidvest Bank.Responsibilities include liaising with local and international clients.Being a completely new entity, it is my responsibility to ensure that: - workflows and systems are functioning correctly,- ensure that procedures are continuously updated and followed,- regulations are adhered to,- ensuring all employees are trained to the highest level. In 2013 I was presented with Bidvest Bank’s Employee of the Year award.

Over the years I was involved in various areas within the Treasury Department Liaised with Banks, Stock Brokers, Institutions, and private clients both locally and international in respect of settlements/ information or any assistance required.• Assisted the office manager in the running of the office at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and when the manager was away I had the responsibility of running it on my own.• Ensuring that all market trades entered into are confirmed and matched via S.W.I.F.T/ fax/ market systems and telephonically.• All discrepancies resolved both internally and externally.• Where applicable, legacy systems are updated, this to ensure that all systems are accurate and correct as any error can have large financial implications due to decisions being made on incorrect data.• Checked and ensured that all documentation was negotiable, capturing all relevant data in the system for settlements, registration, splitting of stock, banking and balancing the days settlements. • The amount banked and settled each week was in excess of R10billion and during my stay we did not have any discrepancies or interest claims.• Responsible for all negotiable instruments in safe custody.• Capturing all assets and balancing the registers in safe custody.• Controlled all blank cheques, transfer deeds and commercial paper.• Prepared all general fund payments made in other currencies.• Completed all documentation required by Exchange Control.• Liaise on a daily basis with foreign and local banks.
