I am currently an On The Day Controller/Coordinater for WHP. I really enjoy this role as every day is different. I find the role suits my personality and skills well as I am extremely organised and like problem solving. I have good communication skills and this is required in my current role due to the fact I liaise with the Field Engineers, Office Staff and Clients directly. I have to be professional and ensure my information sharing is appropriate and relevant to the party I am speaking with. I undertake a lot of customer calls and complete several different reports to ensure data is up to date and information shared and saved correctly.

I had the opportunity to be become the Logistics Manager for Beacon Communications T&A Project. I arranged for all kit requirements to be sourced and transported to Sites. I managed and controlled the kit stock for these builds ensuring all Trackers and Programmes were up to date and reflected current build status. I managed shortages and faulty part replacements and ensured they were actioned in a timely manner to avoid build issues and delays. I enjoyed this role and feel it suits my skills and personality well! I am organised, good at prioritising and good at time management! I also work well under pressure.

After starting at Beacon as an assistant to the Project Managers on Transmission, the opportunity arose to become a Project Manager myself. I was very keen to grasp this opportunity and worked extremely hard at ensuring all tasks were managed not only correctly but in a timely matter. My role included contacting site providers to gain entry to the telecoms equipment to carry out work, raising outage permits, raising job sheets, creating RAMS, updating reports and also liaising closely with the Engineers on Site to ensure any issues they experienced were rectified as quickly as possible.

During my time at Bumbles Nursery I had a variety of different roles within the different age groups. My roles included being the supervisor in the Pre-school Room, working in the 2yr old room and helping in the other rooms as and when required. Within all the roles it was my responsibility to ensure the environment was stimulating, fun and safe, liaise with parents on a daily basis telling them about their child’s day and answering any questions or concerns they may have had, provide opportunities where the children could learn and explore at their own pace, ensure Policies and procedures were adhered too and keep all paperwork up to date. I also helped other supervisors plan their week’s activities. Within my supervisor role I had a small team of staff to manage, Planning and paperwork to carry out and general care of the children.

At Tamar Valley Pre-School I was the day-to-day Manager. I had lots of responsibilities and this meant I had to be organised. I did all the duties required for the day to day running of the Pre-School. I planned and organised activities including the resources required. I had forms and paperwork to complete, which had to be completed professionally and quickly. I liaised with parents and other professional ensuring all were happy and we were providing the best for the children in our care. I also had to manage a small team of staff, Making sure they all knew their roles and responsibilities and were happy with their roles. This Pre-school had recently failed Ofsted and I was taken on to help bring it back up to standard. I worked with the Committee and Staff on all the improvements we needed to make and we got a Satisfactory grade, working towards Good. I feel this was a big achievement and I am proud to have been part of it.

Callington

As a Nursery Nurse within this nursery I worked as part of a team to help create a stimulating and educational environment. As a newly opened nursery I welcomed new parents and children as they enquired and joined the nursery. My day to day duties included general care of the children, planning interesting activities, liaising with parents and other professionals and ensuring the environment is clean and safe.

Stoke Climsland

As part of this whole school team I worked closely with individual Teachers. I worked alongside them by helping students who needed extra support. I also organised books and resources and made sure that equipment for lessons was available and set out. I spent just over a year working one-to-one with a child who had Cerebral Palsy. This meant meeting all his needs emotionally and physically. Due to the fact he was the first physically disabled child to attend the school I had the responsibility of identifying potential problems and resolving them. I found this particularly challenging however very rewarding!
