The Nuffield Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology is one of the largest academic clinical O&G departments in the UK, encompassing inter-disciplinary research across a wide range of important issues in human reproduction and applied basic science. The department is based in the John Radcliffe Hospital, NHS, UK.- Provided administrative assistance and secretarial support to three research academics and clinical members of staff (two professors and a clinical consultant). - Scheduled electronic diaries, fixing complex travel itineraries- Assisted with the Oxford-Kobe Institute (based in Kobe, Japan) seminar administration, I coordinated the organization of seminars in Japan from start to finish and I was Secretary to the Kobe Committee- Maintained the departmental graduate training programme documentation, liaised with senior staff and the department’s graduate students. - This job as a whole required me to be highly organized, able to work under pressure and to deadlines, taking initiative and making decisions in the absence of the three academics, and maintaining confidentiality in all matters.
