Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research in the northeast of Melbourne. It is an internationally recognised leader in clinical teaching and training, affiliated with eight universities and the largest Victorian provider of training for specialist physicians and surgeons.My role was responsible for all leadership aspects of HR Operations, including Recruitment, Payroll, Salary Packaging, HR Systems, Helpdesk, all administration and operational aspects of the employment life-cycle, all of which are managed in-house with a staff of 40. The role grew to include oversight of volunteer management and required active participation in the in the HR leadership team with continual collaboration on Austin’s people strategy.Also required was regular participation at Executive and Board level, having responsibility for numerous projects and risk management plans and to continue the journey of HR service excellence.
