An award winning, specialist recruitment agency, established in 2005, providing Welsh speaking temporary and permanent staff to businesses throughout Wales and a few in England. Also provide a Welsh language testing service and HR advice for small business. As the founder of Job Trac Cymru I have undertaken all aspects of setting up and running a Company including market research, business planning, marketing, promotion, invoicing, budgets and finance. Day to day my aim is to find Welsh speakers jobs where they are able to use their Welsh language. This includes interviewing prospective candidates and sourcing prospective client companies that require Welsh speakers. I also strive to ensure my companies are in line with the latest technology and social networking. Customer feedback and market demand led me to develop and launch an advertising web site called www.safleswyddi.co.uk in 2007 which now advertises jobs throughout Wales which I also manage. I have developed mobile phone apps for Safle Swyddi part funded by winning a Dragon’s Den style competition hosted by the Welsh Language Board. I also undertake ad-hoc HR work for clients, such as skills testing, assisting with interviews and providing general HR advice when needed.

Assisted many clients throughout Wales with generalist HR issues. Clients include Avanti Television: where there had been no previous HR input into this fast growing Welsh television business I introduced basic HR principles including job descriptions, employment contracts, staff handbooks, freelancer guidelines, policies, procedures, appraisal systems, and health and safety risk assessments. Over the years I have advised on redundancy issues and provided support through a TUPE transfer. I also provided general administration support to this company as and when required. Other contracts included Facet Industrial (formerly FRAMS) dealing with redundancies and long term sick issues, Menter Iaith assisting with staff handbooks and Tynant Garage dealing with employee contracts and restrictive covenants.Production Assistant/Researcher/Business Affairs. During my time at Avanti I have assisted with a wide range of duties including reception duties greeting various guests from groups of school children to well known famous artists and musicians, office management duties, production paperwork including copyright clearance for music, clips and pictures, PRS and MCPS cue sheets and budgets, audience sourcing, transport, artists, musicians and presenters and staff contracts, including child presenter licenses for various channels including Ch4, Ch5, BBC, Sky and S4C.

Responsible for recruiting both internal and external vacancies across all genres and departments within BBC Cymru Wales including television and radio News, Drama (i.e. Dr Who, Casualty) Welsh language programmes and support staff. Sometimes managing up to 50 vacancies at one time. This job was extremely busy requiring attention to detail and organisational skills that are second to none. Regular liaison with senior managers and candidates to ensure an efficient service was provided right through from the start of the recruitment process assisting with job descriptions through to writing adverts, sourcing candidates and completing contracts of employment. As the BBC has undergone some restructuring recently, part of my recruitment process was to include priority candidates who are at risk of redundancy and to liaise with Unions. All of my work was carried out bilingually in Welsh and English.

As a founder member of Yes Television, joining at a time when there were only 5 employees, I was based in Cardiff and reported directly to the CEO who was based in London. I set up the whole Cardiff office and HR department from scratch, to a busy and effective function that covered offices Worldwide – Cardiff, London, Dublin, Australia, US, and Hong Kong recruiting over 200 employees worldwide, including many specialist IT roles. I was an active member of the ACAS Personnel Managers Group and sat on the CBI Wales Committee for Education and Lifelong Learning.I had sole management responsibility for the training function and budget. I also founded this function through a company wide training needs analysis of technical and personal training needs and used the results to formulate the workings of the training department and budget. I was responsible for all administration, budgetary control, monitoring training and development needs, co-ordinating training, identifying and building relationships with training providers, for every single employee, including Management and Team Leader Development Programmes. Other regular duties included: Weekly management and budget reports, Organising social activities for all offices, Employee Newsletter, Payroll, Investigating alleged misconduct for disciplinary and carrying out disciplinary meetings, Employee Counselling, Advising CEO, Directors, and Heads of Departments on HR issues.
