As a 4th year graduate student at Lamar University, I was given the opportunity to teach two undergraduate classes, Hearing Anatomy and Advanced Audiology. I was responsible for the daily lessen plan, activities and grading. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching.

Lead researcher for a study that measured the decibel level of common hair dryers. The study was to determine at what decibel level hearing protection is warranted and to raise awareness at professional salons. Thirty-seven hair dryers were collected and measured to find the average decibel level of common hair dryers.The results from this study should concern anyone using a hairdryer. Every hair dryer tested had at least 1 setting that was above 85dB. Salon stylist working 8 hour days should be concerned with the potential of developing a noise-induced hearing loss.
