I am a writer by training and inclination, and produce articles, white papers, press releases and other marketing materials. My experience includes writing and producing press releases and editorial contributions for energy industry journals with the ability to present technical content in a readable way. I am an experienced events organiser, from intimate round table events and receptions for clients to working with key industry societies on large conferences/exhibitions. Currently working with Geological Surveys across Europe, as Senior Communications Advisor for EuroGeoSurveys, and Communications Lead for a major EU-funded project to create a Geological Service for Europe. Working with a number of other clients on upcoming events and content creation for their own marketing.I have worked across subsurface industries including energy and mining, focused on marketing and PR around specifically exploration, data management and digital transformation. Clients include Associations and non-profits (EuroGeoSurveys, TNO, GESGB, EAGE, SPDM, PPDM, Energistics and others) oil companies (including Petronas and Petrom) service companies (for example TGS, Dell, CGG, Geologix, Azuli) as well as governments across the world, from South America to Africa and the Middle East, running successful licensing rounds and bringing people together.I served for five years as Director of Communications for the PESGB, now the GESGB. I provided Marketing and Committee Support for PETEX between 2005 and 2018, and was a member of the Managing Committee and Chair of Communications Committee for National Data Repositories conferences between 2008 and 2016. I also served as Western Europe Region Lead for Energistics from 2007 - 2015, helping to promote the development and deployment of industry wide data exchange standards. I collaborate with the EAGE on their Annual Event, organising and running the Digital Transformation Area, and support SPDM with their marketing and events management. I am also working with PPDM on setting up the DANR hub, a collaborative space for NDR’s to share skills and experience.Outside of work I have four grown-up children, enjoy walking and travelling and recently explored the Svartisen glacier in Norway. When not walking, working or doing something crafty, I can be found curled up with a book and a glass of Malbec!
