About Tracey Diamond

I am a partner at Troutman Pepper LLP and co-host of the podcast Hiring to Firing. I practice in the areas of labor and employment law, human resources counseling and employment litigation. I partner clients to structure their workforce in the most efficient and effective way possible while maintaining legal compliance. This entails advice and counseling on workplace issues, drafting policies and procedures, negotiating and drafting agreements and vigorously representing clients in litigation before administrative agencies and federal and state courts. I have also handled numerous complex class and collective action wage and hour cases and cases involving breach of non-competition, non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreements. On the labor side, I assist companies with negotiating collective bargaining agreements, advise on union organizing activities and defend clients in grievance arbitrations.I am a New Jersey Superior Court Rule 1:40 qualified mediator included on the roster of court-approved mediators.I previously served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Drexel University School of Law.I am a former general counsel of a national retail optical company, where I oversaw the company's employment law matters, negotiated commercial contracts and managed the litigation docket. I also served as director of human resources and operations for a non-profit charitable organization, where I was responsible for all human resources functions for more than 1,000 employees. I clerked for the Hon. Shirley Wohl Kram in the Southern District of New York and held previous positions as an associate at Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler and Squadron, Ellenoff, Plesent & Sheinfeld in New York.I am a graduate of Tufts University (B.A. 1988, magna cum laude) and Columbia University School of Law (J.D. 1992).Specialties: workplace advice and counseling; labor and employment law; litigation; human resources counseling; negotiations
