After more than 25 years in marketing & communications, I still get a real buzz from seeing the results of a successful marketing plan - whether an event, creating a sponsorship, an email campaign, a social media plan, a new marketing brochure, an internal communications presentation or a PR news clip. When creating a marketing plan, I always start with the fundamental, but often overlooked, questions of 'What do you want to achieve?' and 'What does the prospect want to hear?' Former colleagues will know my mantra: 'You have to wear your target user's shoes - not yours'. What you may want to sell/say is very different to what they want to buy/hear.My career has spanned blue chip names - Nestle, Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvys and Chubb Insurance. My expertise includes marketing to the high net worth client; managing branding and identity projects; sponsorship management; event management; press relations; writing corporate and product materials; writing speeches and internal communications. Before setting up my own marketing & communications consultancy in 2017, I spent 19 years helping Chubb Insurance to grow into a proactive marketing company. I was instrumental in three major international re-brand and visual identity programmes and managed major sponsorship events such as the Salon Prive motor show, the Boodles Tennis event and the TEFAF art fair in Maastricht. I also had the pleasure of supporting many of Chubb's key brokers -- providing advice and counsel for a range of marketing activities such as branding, press relations, sponsorships, events, marketing materials, email campaigns, direct mail campaigns.In my spare time I love watching my three sons play rugby & lacrosse; anything related to food; and prefer champagne or Guinness on a night out. But never together. When able, I volunteer at the local junior school to teach drawing and painting skills to very enthusiastic pupils. I used to be involved with the Colts rugby squad at Salisbury RFC. I run an annual Breast Cancer event to help raise funds.
