I joined Standard Chartered in March 2017 as Group Head of Corporate, Public and Regulatory Affairs, and Brand & Marketing was added to my portfolio a few months later. A year later I assumed the additional role of Group Head, Compliance, which expanded to become Conduct, Financial Crime and Compliance from January 2019.My teams are responsible for the Bank’s internal and external engagement, our sustainability agenda as well our marketing activity – including sponsorship of Liverpool Football Club – and for driving the highest standards in conduct, fighting financial crime and compliance across the Bank and in the markets we operate in.Prior to joining Standard Chartered I spent 15 years at the UK regulator, latterly as Acting Chief Executive of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and previously as Director of Supervision and Authorisations, and Director of Enforcement and Financial Crime. I served as a Board Member of the FSA from April 2013 and a member of the Financial Policy Committee of the Bank of England and a Non-Executive Director of the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) from September 2015 to June 2016.
