• Perform administrative duties to ensure efficient daily operation of the Forensic Science Division (CSI, Chemistry, Latent Prints). Provide technical expertise when needed. • Maintain CALEA accreditation and prepare for ASCLD-LAB accreditation process.• Develop goals, objective, procedures and operating policies that adhere to accreditation standards.• Perform assigned personnel functions to include hiring, corrective action, scheduling.• Assist in budget preparation and grant writing; ensure adequate inventory or supplies and equipment. • Seek out training opportunities for personnel.• Stay proficient in areas of forensic chemistry including controlled substances, fire debris and trace evidence; analyze evidence and issue reports in these areas as needed. Maintain clandestine laboratory certification and respond as requested. Respond to crime scenes to offer assistance as needed. • Offer expert testimony when needed.
