I am a biologist, science communicator, and artist from Northern California. I am interested (broadly) in ecosystem stability and collapse, species interactions, and anthropogenic effects on habitat structure. It has been my great joy to host CritterCam for NorCal Public Media. These 1-minute episodes can be found on YouTube, or seen on Northern California PBS stations during the children’s edutainment block. My current research is focused on the diversification of Protium subserratum (Burseraceae). I use R programming language in conjunction with other software to model habitat suitability for different ecotypes of the species. I collaborated on a paper published recently on the topic in Ecology and Evolution.I am an alumnus of San Jose State University (SJSU), where I spent much of my time in Dr. Ben Carter’s lab. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I regularly volunteered as an intern at Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley (WCSV). At WCSV, I worked hands-on with over 100 different California native species. I have had the privilege to work with raptors, small mammals, and songbirds throughout the rehabilitation process.
