I spent the last 2 years redesigning the computer science and technology electives classes at a middle school in North Phoenix with a focus on personalized learning and student engagement. Students are encouraged to use problem-solving along with 21st-century skills: creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. I work passionately at building relationships, creating a learning environment where students thrive, and providing continual feedback to improve and grow.Prior to relocating to Phoenix, I spent 4 years developing and implementing an Elementary STEM program in Denver Public Schools. My primary focus was on creating critical thinkers who could construct a project from start to finish using the engineering design process. Students were encouraged to use 21st-century learning skills as they designed solutions to problems. I also guided science labs, robotics, and coding while integrating the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme to inspire curiosity about how the world works.
