WriterNews Co/Lab Mar 2018 - Dec 2018Arizona State University - Walter Cronkite School Of JournalismI helped research and write "best practices" in a collaborative project for News Co/Lab. We looked at how American and international newsrooms, and other media professionals, have successfully engaged and educated audiences in news literacy and journalism. The results will hopefully provide those who use media evidence-backed methods, and tips on how to implement the practices. -
Health/Hospital ReporterJackson Hole News And Guide Jun 2008 - Sep 2009My beat included covering the local public hospital and writing health features. The newspaper sued the hospital for access to information following my formal requests. A judge ordered hospital officials to release the information. I then wrote in-depth articles about the hospital's surgery data so the public could make informed decisions. All this hinged on the fact that a woman died during an operation performed only a few times a year.
