My Thesis work at Colorado College (Open Space Funding and Acquisition) parlayed into much of the research - and later into a paid position - for this campaign, whose objective was to raise $50M through a tenth of a cent sales tax for the acquisition and stewardship of trails, open space and parks in the Colorado Springs area. As was consistent throughout the rest of the state for this type of initiative, the ballot initiative failed by a slim margin this first round, but passed two years later once the groundwork was laid.In addition to background research, I assisted in the design and implementation of the Ballot Initiative; participated in fund-raising activities; managed all field activities, including volunteer recruitment/coordination, community outreach/get out the vote campaign & daily office activities.
