Affordable apartment/tax credit developer since 1996. Background in City and Regional Plannning/ Community Development with previous work experience as a Planner and Community Development Administrator for local governments and Councils of Governments (COGs) in NC and SC. Work with different investors/developers and local governments, non-profits, and housing authorities as a Consultant to develop affordable multi-million dollar apartment communities from A-Z. Identify land, entitle it, secure financing, work with third parties including civil engineers, architects, contractors, attorneys, appraisers, environmental engineers, etc. to develop the properties. Work primarily in Southeast with strong focus on Carolinas and Virginia. Currently have ownership interest in 24 apartment communities in NC and VA, have served as a consultant on well over 40 additional funded developments. Put partners together to develop successful partnerships & winning applications. Provide consulting services to non-profits & other developers to secure soft-financing & grants including HOME, CDBG, FHLBA to cover gaps for developments. Strong grant writing skills and focus in housing, community development, economic development and supportive services.
