Currently serving as the Robert N. Noyce Director of the Engineering Communication Program in the College of Engineering, Cornell University. My area of specialization is in business, engineering, scientific, and technical presentations. I have a special interest in social justice and techquity issues, along with online teaching modalities. I interact daily to help those in the technical fields to hone their messaging, whether it be via presentations, on paper, in meetings and teams, or online channels.Feel free to explore my eCornell online certificate titled "Presentation Design and Delivery," where one can take one course or all six courses for certification. The offering is aimed at professionals, on the job, who wish to hone their presentation prowess. Find out more at https://ecornell.cornell.edu/certificates/engineering/presentation-design-and-delivery/ . As well, please see my published book, "Slide Rules: Design, Build, and Archive Presentations in the Engineering and Technical Fields" for simple techniques that will span any field, any topic, any need by targeting presentations with better approaches for interaction and information sharing. I have worked with practicing professional engineers, technical experts, scientists, and related field experts for over 30 years, helping them to strengthen their abilities to become impactful contributors in their organizations. I am very active in IEEE, where my current work includes co-authoring the “English for Technical Professionals” coursework for ILN; committee commitments include the IEEE Continuing Education Committee, the Educational Activities Committee, and the IEEE Teaching Excellence Editorial Board. I also served as the editor for the IEEE Professional Communication book series for Professional Engineering Communication, with 12 books on the shelves for the series.
