Currently the main focus of the business is to WordPress, an open source content management system. My position at E.T.C involved sessional work teaching Internet applications, HTML authoring and Introduction to Computers. ETC contracted me to write all six course books and teacher's manuals for "CoastCall" training being delivered at that time throughout the Mid North Coast.The CoastCall project aimed to establish local portals up and down the Mid North Coast (I administered the one for Bellingen). Much emphasis had been placed on training and use of the Internet as a means for small, local businesses to promote their products to a wider audience.

My role at B E S T involved 21 hours per week of Internet training, web page authoring services, Windows95/NT network support, and in late 1999, Y2K services to the public.The Internet courses I delivered focused on Internet history, World Wide Web concepts (navigation and searching), web page authoring, e-mail, chat, newsgroups and FTP functions. As National Appeals Manager for The Smith Family I worked as the key operations member of a three-person team in a busy Marketing Department. Between the three of us we coordinated and produced a number large public appeals each year. Appeal targets of up to 12 million were reached with expenditure budgets also in the millions.This role revolved around a very mature fundraising database. Each appeal went to existing donors and had an "acquisition" strategy. The database was segmented. Different offers or approaches made to different groups of exisitng customers. New donors were found with magazine ads, deep flap envelops, all backed up with TV and Radio advertising. All the above branded with a consistent theme and imagery.During my time at The Smith Family I coordinated the construction of the corporate web site and performed recruitment under EEO guidelines.

My role at WWF involved the oversight, management and coordination of all direct marketing activities related to the organisation’s supporters. As a Head of Department the role further entailed direct liaison with the CEO and Executive Council members, the supervision of two staff members and responsibility for a income $750,000 budget. I also acted as the organisation’s defacto Network Administrator while the organisation upgraded its local area network.

As Fundraiser for Amnesty International I had a very broad exposure to fundraising techniques - foremost direct mail and telemarketing, but also special events and merchandising.Additional duties included establishing and managing an office, implementing a database and maintaining plant. With direct liaison to a voluntary board I was required to report and advise on various funding initiatives, administrative matters and implement board directives resulting from the strategic plan. I was also involved in a number of recruitments where EEO policies applied.

Essentially a sales position, I was required to communicate Greenpeace outlooks clearly and politely within stated guidelines while soliciting funds. Advancing quickly, I soon assumed additional management duties including recruitment, training, paying wages and attending to safety matters. EEO policies applied to recruitment and training.
