In my early mental health career, I began as a counselor/social worker and gained significant experience working with that target population. Making the decision to go back to school and change my career path to become a Registered Dietitian was one of the most rewarding and proudest moments of my life. My social work experience focused heavily on substance use and mental health disorders within the homeless population in Trenton, NJ.As a registered dietitian, my career experience revolves around Clinical Dietetics in an acute care setting, as well as a Facility Dietitian in long term care. While both of these positions I hold are significantly different from each other, both encompass all aspects of dietetics in different ways. Experiencing this variety always keeps me on my toes and continuously learning about manifestations of different disease states, how to treat them, how they differ among different age groups, and how the presentation can be significantly different among older adults.Helping people has been the priority in my entire career as a whole.
