About Tracy-Ann Johnson, Ph.D

With over a decade of experience as a University Professor and researcher, I have made significant contributions to academic and public policy communities through my research, writing, and teaching. My research focuses primarily on gender inequality, diversity and inclusion, identity politics, political representation and political institutions. My work has been published in books, book chapters, and peer-reviewed journals. I adopt an intersectional approach to research to better understand how different social categories, such as race, gender, sexuality, class, and ability, interact and shape people’s experiences of oppression or privilege. As equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Coordinator in the Faculty of Education, Queen's University, I provide leadership in addressing equity-related issues, developing inclusive policies, and fostering an inclusive learning and working environment. I am passionate about advancing social justice and equity through education, research, and community engagement. My expertise in intersectional analysis informs my commitment to promoting inclusive practices and advocating for marginalized communities.
