Full range litigation support including legal research and independently prepare, draft and revise pleadings, discovery, motions, affidavits, briefs, orders, etc. Prepare, acquisition, review, produce, and distribute legal documents, correspondence, exhibits for cases on all levels of government: local, state, appellate and federal. Responsible for file set-up, trial notebooks, docket control, calendaring, coordination of pre-trial investigations, interfacing with the courts, investigators, attorneys and clients. Maintain calendar and schedules for multiple lawyers. Coordinate telephone conferences. Investigate case facts to ensure all relevant information is considered. Interview and prepare affidavits for clients and witnesses. Obtain and analyze legal documents, confidential information, records, court records, etc. Communication skills a top priority with clients such as government department heads, County Commissioners, Judges and County employees, as well as the media and general public. My cases incorporated a wide variety of legal areas including but not limited to employment law, federal civil rights, contracts, personal injury, torts, local government, etc. In addition to my litigation responsibilities, I was also the systems manager responsible for the case management database, active and archive files. I provided technical support, training, system design, implementation, database maintenance, security, created and continuously updated numerous reports. Design and produce trial exhibits using a variety of software. Review and recommend project resource requirements. Responsible for training all staff members, developing and implementing standard operating procedures on case management system, internet operations, electronic mail, word processing, electronic forms library, spreadsheets and electronic calendar and tickler system.
