Collaborated with PhD students. Findings presented at the 2006 International Biomedical Sciences Instrumentation Symposium.“Bone Mineral Density and its Relationship to Mechanical Properties of the Rib Cortical Bone” (8/04 - 12/04)Investigated the effect of aging and gender on bone mineral density and bone structure. Determined the local BMD and percent mineralization for human rib cortical bone coupons. Results published in the 2005 Stapp Car Crash Journal.“The Determination of Suitable Parameters for Eye Injury Risk from Projectiles” (5/03 - 12/03)Evaluated the relationship between projectile characteristics and eye injuries. Determined significant predictors of eye injury based on a parametric statistical data analysis using Minitab. Findings have been published in The Journal of Trauma and technical presentations.
