Participate in all aspects of the gift cycle including cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Oversee a portfolio of approximately 150 prospects and qualify prospective donors as assigned. Support solicitation activities of the Museum’s Executive and Trustee leadership while continuing to move potential donors of $25,000 and above toward solicitation and closure. Manage prospect tracking, information and reporting. Development liaison for the Contemporary Art department and the Korean Art Program—leading fundraising efforts for curatorial groups, acquisitions, exhibitions, conservation and other projects as needed. Successfully assisted in securing over $2 million dollars for exhibition support, secured a gift of $1 million for the Art acquisition and endowment fund and over $2 million in individual support for the Museum’s technology initiatives.

Responsible for strategizing, managing, organizing, and implementing all aspects of three separate patron groups and a capital campaign portfolio. This included, but is not limited to, managing budgets and expenses, responsibility for all administrative, logistical and structural aspects of the three groups including development of all programming. Through working directly with curators, volunteers and the research department, responsible for identifying, cultivating, recruiting and stewarding new members along with upgrading current members into various other patron groups. Established and met annual goals of approximately $500,000 per year with gifts ranging from $400-$5000. In FY’08 Membership goals were exceeded by approximately $150,000. Management of a 100 person portfolio and campaign asks for upwards to $100,000. Work closely with our Special Events team and event leadership on the planning and logistics of our major fundraising benefits, the fall Gala and spring Art Party.

Researching, developing, and implementing marketing and other strategies designed to acquire new corporate partners. Created a marketing strategy that aided in exceeding multiple departments annual fiscal goals. Solely responsible for managing the corporate membership program, which includes preparing annual renewal requests, submitting timely reports, membership retention and growth, overseeing membership benefit fulfillment, and stewarding corporate relationships. Grant writing. Executed the largest fundraising dinner ever held by the museum, raising over 3.3 million dollars, while meeting the Corporate Membership Goal for FY06.

Coordinated all corporate and external events held within the museum. Created budgets, schedules, timelines, and staffing charts while maintaining a working relationships with staff and vendors. During the planning of events, I was responsible for all logistics involving caterers, designers, musicians, promotional materials, equipment rentals and any additional vendor involvement. Further tasks included, ordering and inventory of all alcohol needed for events, organizing gallery walks, studio visits, and museum tours. Responsible for all billing and invoices generated through external and internal events and meetings. Developed and assisted in production and management of the Museum’s annual fundraising events, including the annual Gala, Art Party, American Art Award, and all Whitney patron groups’ events.

Assisted in onsite coordination for a wide range of events hosted by the Mayor of the City of New York. Worked directly with the city graphics department in design and layout of invitations and on site signage. Writing of biographies and organizational summaries for use in publicity material and the Mayoral speeches. Worked with the Gracie Mansion Docent program by organizing docents, retail inventory along with giving daily tours.

Responsible for research and maintenance of files on foundations and potential corporate sponsors. Drafted and mailed correspondence, maintained the development database, updated publicity packets and aided in the creation of sponsorship proposals. Staffing and directing of 30+ volunteers for the Central Park Cai Guo Qiang firework display.
