Developed and implemented a master plan and schedule for replacing 15 ageing and obsolete robotic arc welding cells over the time frame of 2015 – 2018. The first 3 new replacement cells were acquired and commissioned in 2015 -2016.Increased revenue generated per employee by 10% through focus on Lean Manufacturing techniques.Improved Working Capital by reducing inventories by 50% through focus on “pull” systems of inventory control.Reduced Fixed Costs by restructuring the Salary/Indirect operations personnel at Corporate office and Matamoros, Mexico plant. Managed the specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning of 6 automatic robotic arc welding cells. Using techniques and tools of 80-20, executed project in 2004 to realign the Matamoros manufacturing plant around high volume in-line production. Result was 2 high volume continuous lines and 1 low volume/job shop area, resulting in increased throughput and efficiency for the highest volume products.Led the initiative to implement Lean Manufacturing tools at the Matamoros, Mexico plant. This included establishing metrics such as On Time Delivery (internal and external), Manhours per Unit, Dock To Dock Time, First Time Through Quality. Instituted Market Rate of Demand (MRD) pull system to govern in-coming purchased materials as well as internal product replenishment at the distribution warehouse.

Directed all manufacturing engineering projects at plant in Mexico to include capital equipment acquisition, process improvement, value engineering.Successfully managed an $8.4 million project to expand the Matamoros, Mexico plant by 120,000 square feet. Project tasks included construction of the expansion as well as specification and procurement of various items of capital equipment.Shut down a North Carolina plant and relocated the operations to the expanded Matamoros, Mexico plant. Transition of the production to Matamoros was accomplished ahead of schedule and with no interruption in customer shipments.Served as Project Manager for $400,000 refurbishment of 2 large hydraulic presses (2500 and 3000 ton). Later relocated these presses from North Carolina and Birmingham plants to Matamoros plant.
