Joined McBrides in 2004 as a Financial Accountant at the UK Head Office. Main duties included VAT returns, Central cost centres overhead variance analysis, budget and forecasting, balance sheet reconcilliations.Changed roles in 2007 which involved the consolidation of the UK Group Accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow statements. My role also involved budgeting, Sales Analysis, Capital expenditure and covering in the absence of the Compliance and Procedures Manager. 2yrs later, I applied for a Management Accountant role at Middleton site in order to develop and expand my knowledge of Material Usage, Labour variances and costing processes. However, during a restructure, I moved back to the Head Office as a Management Accountant at the SSC. My role changed to producing the Material Usage Variance reports for 4 UK sites. I have also transferred the Capex reporting procedures from the WCE HO to the UK SSC.In my current role as Finance Manager I have two direct reports. Between us our main responsibilities include the Capex Reporting, Material Usage Variance reporting and Labour Variance reporting for the UK and European sites.

Mardon Dot was an engineering company manufacturing parts for pumps for Gas and Oil Companies, and other industries.My role covered all the aspects of finance from authorising and making payments to Suppliers, Credit Control, producing the monthly accounts to send to the parent company's HO, and Corporation Tax analysis.During my time at Mardon Dot, I developed a system to reconcile the actual costs to the job costing system, which helped to ensure that costs had been recorded accurately, and also allowed job various analysis to be performed.
